Festival Kicks Off North Haven Library’s Summer Reading Program: What To Know
The free community celebration includes games, crafts, food trucks, live music and more, according to organizers.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Memorial Library invites families, friends, and readers of all ages to join the fun at its Summer Reading Kick-Off Fest on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free community celebration, marks the official start of the Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Programs!
The Fest will feature a lively mix of entertainment and activities, including:

- A high-energy performance by the School of Rock House Band
- Crafts, games, and balloon animals for children and families
- Hands-on exhibits from Meigs Point Nature Center and the Eli Whitney Museum
Guests will also have the chance to connect with local organizations that support education, creativity, and our community. A variety of food trucks will be parked along Lindsley Street offering refreshments for purchase, so attendees are encouraged to come hungry.
“This festival is a celebration of everything our Library stands for—community, curiosity, and connection,” said Susan Griffiths, Director of Library Services. “We’re excited to bring families, friends, and local organizations together for a day of summer fun and reading inspiration.”

The fun starts at 11 a.m. sharp — rain or shine! In case of bad weather, we’ll move the festivities inside the Library (p.s. it might be louder than usual in the Library if the festivities are moved inside).
