Adds Neurological Therapy Services in Addition to Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Gaylord Therapy Services in North Haven announces that it has expanded its footprint and range of services offered at its 8 Devine Street location.

On April 11, the outpatient office will begin to offer neurological therapy services to optimize the recovery of patients experiencing challenges with their physical, cognitive and language abilities due to stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, brain injury, concussion, Guillain-Barré Syndrome and a number of other neurological conditions.

Appointments can be made by calling (203) 230-9226.

The expansion into the adjacent former Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness Center has more than doubled Gaylord’s treatment space from approximately 5,000 square feet to 12,500 square feet.

Joining Gaylord’s existing staff of North Haven orthopedic physical therapy clinicians are a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, each with extensive experience providing neurological rehabilitation services at Gaylord’s Wallingford outpatient clinic.

Patients will have access to new technologies to improve function and strength including the ZeroG overhead body-weight support gait and balance system; the BITS touchscreen to challenge visual and motor skills; and the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill that allows users to walk or run at a fraction of their body weight.

Gaylord Vice President of Clinical Operations Peter Grevelding noted that the North Haven office was expanded to meet the increased demand for a broader range of rehabilitation services in the state.

“When recovering from a life-altering illness or injury, people seek out Gaylord knowing that our rehabilitation expertise will help them recover to the fullest extent possible.”

In addition to its Wallingford outpatient location located on the Gaylord Hospital campus, Gaylord operates four outpatient physical therapy offices in Cheshire, Cromwell, Madison, and North Haven. The North Haven and Wallingford locations provide both outpatient neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation services.
