From Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home

Lorraine E. (Freitag) Montesi, 80, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born December 12, 1944 in New Haven, to Fred and Lorraine (Farren) Freitag.

She is survived by her beloved friend and partner of over 51 years, David DeRosa, who was her true companion in every sense — a husband in heart, if not in name. Together, they shared countless beautiful memories at their cherished lake house in Bristol, CT, surrounded by nature, laughter, and the animals she so dearly loved.

A dedicated nurse throughout her career, Lorraine cared deeply for others both in her work and her daily life. Her compassion extended far beyond her patients — she was a devoted animal lover and rescuer whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. Her home was always open to animals in need, and she cared for each one as family.

She also loved traveling, especially her many vacations to St. Martin, her favorite island escape filled with sunshine, beaches, and joy.
