Man Walking Dog Struck By Car, Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries, North Haven Police Say
The dog was killed, police added.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A man, who was walking his dog, was struck by a vehicle and has sustained life-threatening injuries, police said.
At 7:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Montowese Avenue at Quinnipiac Avenue, for the report of a struck pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers found a 43-year-old man, unresponsive and with life-threatening injuries, police said.

"It is believed the victim was walking their dog at the time of the accident," police said. "The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Unfortunately, their dog was killed in the accident."
Shortly into the investigation, an individual responded to department headquarters, stating their involvement in the accident, police added. The individual has been cooperative with detectives and members of the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit, which was activated to investigate, police said.

The vehicle has been located and seized, and the accident remains under investigation, police said. No charges have been filed at this time.
