New North Haven Movie Theatre Opens Doors

The theatre is running a promotion Saturday for the first 100 people to buy tickets at the box office.

Dallas-based Cinemark opened its new theatre in North Haven Thursday after taking over the previous theatre, Rave Cinemas, on Universal Drive, and spending more than $16 million to tear down the old facility and renovate the new 57,000-square-foot, 14-screen multiplex, according to the New Haven Register.

Features of the new theatre include over 1,200 electric-powered, luxury reclining seats with foot rests, alcoholic beverage purchases, self-service concession stands, eight screens with 3-D capability and one screen that’s 68 feet wide by 32 feet high, the Register reports.

The theatre is holding a promotion for those who purchase tickets between today and tomorrow, according to a post on Facebook. The first 100 customers to purchase tickets on Friday and Saturday will receive a 2015 Cinemark refillable cup stocked with “Cinemark goodies.”
