North Haven Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Details Announced
The event will feature holiday caroling, Santa's arrival, the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree and more.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — The town’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will take place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 on the North Haven Green.
“We will start gathering for this year’s ceremony at 4:15 p.m.,” North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda wrote in a post on Facebook. “Joining me on our Gazebo will be two families who have gone through so much pain and sorrow these past few months, and two families whom we will continue to show our community support for. Mr. and Mrs. Constantine Yermakov and their 16 year old son Daniil who recently lost their home, lost many of their friends and lost the life they once knew, will be joining me as we have helped them relocate to North Haven to help them rebuild their lives.
“Also joining me will be North Haven resident Mrs. Laura DeMonte and her young children Phoebe and Porter. Laura is the wife of Lieutenant Dustin DeMonte who gave his life in protecting his Bristol community and who will never be forgotten here in North Haven for his bravery, his courage and for being a true hero.

“At 4:45pm, I will be introducing my colleague Bristol Mayor Jeff Caggiano to join me on the Gazebo as I ask Lieutenant DeMonte’s wife Laura and her two children, Phoebe and Porter to officially light this year’s Christmas Tree.
“I hope you will consider joining us this Sunday, December 4th, to help us show our continued caring, our continued love and our continued support for the DeMonte and Yermakov families.”
