North Haven Library Launches New Community Series With Police, Fire Departments

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven Memorial Library has announced the launch of “North Haven’s Spotlight on Safety,” a new community safety education series developed in partnership with the North Haven Police Department and North Haven Fire Department.
The collaborative initiative is “designed to educate, engage, and empower residents with practical information and resources to promote safety, awareness, and preparedness throughout the community,” according to a news release.
The series will feature a variety of free public programs covering important topics such as personal safety, fire prevention, emergency preparedness, digital safety, first aid basics, and more.

Events will be held at various locations throughout the town, including the North Haven Memorial Library, Senior Center, Recreation Center, and Fire Training Center.
“We are thrilled to work alongside our town’s police and fire departments to bring this important initiative to life,” said Susan Griffiths, Director of Library Services. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to community education and proactive health and safety engagement. Officers, firefighters, and library staff will work together to provide information sessions, hands-on learning opportunities, and meaningful conversations around local safety concerns and prevention strategies.”

Oct. 18: Meet Your First Responders Day (at the Library)
Oct. 23: Meet an EMT Storytime (Registration Required, at the Library)
Oct. 28: Women’s Self-Defense (Registration Required, at the Middle School)
Nov. 4: Fall Prevention (Registration Required, at the Senior Center)
Dec. 2: Intro to Fire Services (at North Haven’s Fire Training Center)
