North Haven Memorial Day Parade 2024: Here’s What To Know

Officials have announced details for the North Haven Memorial Day Parade, including the parade route and more.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Murray-Reynold’s Post 76, American Legion will observe Memorial Day with a remembrance ceremony on the North Haven Green on Saturday, May 25 beginning at 9 a.m.

Memorial Day is observed to honor all American Military members who were lost in service.

Flags are placed on the graves by the Boy Scouts to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Following the observance on the green, we will be celebrating with the Annual North Haven Parade starting at 10:30 a.m. Please come out and enjoy the day.

The parade will be held on Saturday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. Residents are encouraged to find seating along the route, which starts at the High School, goes east on Bailey Road, then north on Maple Avenue, continues on Church Street, and ends at the corner of Church and St. John Streets. The grandstand will be located at the Green, across from Town Hall.

Parade participants include North Haven youth sports teams, the North Haven Police and Fire departments, the, the Governor’s Foot Guard, Naval Submarine Base, New London’s “Silver Dolphins,” the North Haven High School marching band and the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps.

The year’s parade Grand Marshal is Wayne Morgan.

Following the parade, there will be a ceremony on the Green featuring the North Haven High School band, remarks by North Haven officials and a presentation about Memorial Day. The parade will be broadcast live on NHTV.

In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be held on Saturday, June 1.
