North Haven Resident Killed In Crash In Wallingford: Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — The motorcyclist killed in a crash with a car Tuesday in Wallingford has been identified as 19-year-old Aidan Russell of North Haven, police said in an update on Wednesday night.

Police responded to a crash on South Colony Road near its intersection with the Wharton Brook Connector (entrance to I-91) involving a motorcycle, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.

After the initial investigation, Jaques said officers determined it was a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle (Suzuki SV650) and a Lexus RX450.

“The motorcyclist was heading north, while the Lexus was traveling south, when the driver made a left turn onto the Wharton Brook Connector, resulting in the collision,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “First responders attempted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist, who ultimately died from his injuries.”

Jaques said preliminary information leads police to believe Russell was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The other driver involved is a 46-year-old man who remained at the scene and cooperated during the investigation, according to Jaques.

No arrests were made at the scene, according to Jaques.

Jaques said traffic flow was restricted for several hours during the investigation, but the scene has been cleared.

No further information was available on Wednesday night, Jaques said.
