Edward Charles Harris, 88, passed away on Jan. 15, 2025. He was a former advertising executive and business leader who later earned a PhD and became a professor, dean, and emeritus faculty member at SCSU, he was deeply engaged in library advocacy, the Harvard Business School Club of CT, and enjoyed lively social gatherings, reading the New York Times, summers at Morgan Point, and supporting his grandchildren’s pursuits.
Henry Charles Cosenza, 86, passed away on Jan. 14, 2025. The longtime president of Cosenza Oil Company Inc., he was dedicated to providing around-the-clock service to his customers, took pride in his Italian heritage, enjoyed cooking traditional meals, was a lifelong parishioner of St. Donato’s Catholic Church, and found joy in traveling with his family, especially to Disney World and Italy.

Joanne M. Quinto, 76, passed away on Jan. 13, 2025. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 35 years, earned her master’s in education, organized local Toys for Tots drives, volunteered with the Special Olympics, enjoyed shopping, book club, vacationing with her husband, and lunch with friends, but found the most joy spending time with her grandchildren.
James Foley, 89, passed away on Jan. 11, 2025. A U.S. Marine veteran and former steeplejack who ran his own business, he excelled in football and baseball, was a devoted Notre Dame and UCONN women’s basketball fan, took pride in his Irish heritage, and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Barnabas Church.

Robert Joseph Hying, 93, passed away on Jan. 11, 2025. A U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime Marlin Firearms employee, he was a devout Catholic, an avid reader of American history, a dedicated New York Yankees fan, and found great joy in being surrounded by his family.
Patricia Mitchell Owler, 86, passed away on Jan. 9, 2025. A longtime administrative assistant at Kelleher & Company, she was a devoted St. Frances Cabrini parishioner, an avid UCONN women’s basketball and Fighting Irish football fan, a daily crossword enthusiast, a casino-goer, a skilled pie maker, and enjoyed family trips, 50s and 60s dance moves, and the Irish jig.
