Smell Something ‘Fishy’ In North Haven? Here’s Why

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Fire Department is advising residents of why they might be smelling a “fishy odor” in town on Monday.

“There is something Fishy in the air,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “The 911 center has received numerous complaints on 12/9/24 of a ‘fishy odor’ in the areas of Washington Ave, Pool Road extending down past Broadway and State. The odor is related to tank cleaning work occurring at a business in Wallingford and is not reported to be hazardous.

“We recommend keeping windows and doors closed to help reduce inside odors until the end of day when the work is completed.”
