Young North Haven Hero Honored By State Lawmakers

A 9-year-old North Haven resident was recently honored by state lawmakers for her life-saving actions when her father collapsed.

The lawmakers presented Analia with a citation from the General Assembly for her bravery and quick thinking in saving her father’s life after he suffered a life-threatening cardiac arrest at their home.

Analia calmly and quickly dialed 9-1-1 to summon medical assistance for her father, who is also a North Haven police officer. She also bravely followed the dispatcher’s instructions to perform life-saving CPR until help arrived.

Cicarella and Yaccarino said in a statement:

“What a remarkable story that ultimately had a good ending because of Analia’s quick thinking and composure, along with all the tremendous first responders, including the dispatchers who coached Analia through a life-saving CPR procedure over the phone. This is a strong reminder of the impact that a person can have in saving a life, no matter their age. Analia is an inspiration to us all. Also, thank you to the many first responders who sprang into action to save a life.”
