5 Firefighters Hospitalized, 12 Displaced After Norwalk Blaze, Fire Officials Say
The Norwalk Fire Marshal's Division is investigating the cause of the fire.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 29 Bayview Ave. on at 2:26 p.m. Saturday.
First-arriving crews encountered heavy fire and severe conditions while advancing the initial hoseline, officials said. Five firefighters were treated and released from Norwalk Hospital with burns suffered during extinguishment.
The fire escalated to three alarms, bringing all Norwalk fire companies to the scene, before it was extinguished, officials said. Station coverage was provided by the Stamford, New Canaan, Westport, and Rowayton Fire Departments.

No occupants of the house were injured. Twelve people were displaced and are receiving Red Cross services. The Norwalk Fire Marshal's Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
