Katherine McGarrie Palmer, 84, Longtime Westport Resident

Katherine McGarrie Palmer, 84, wife of the late Frank J. Palmer, died peacefully at the on September 1, 2011.      

She was born in Norwalk on June 12, 1927, daughter of the late William and Agnes Hauser McGarrie, and has lived in Westport most of her life. Katherine worked with her family and friends with “Those Two Girls” for many years and was a member of the and the Church of the Assumption. She enjoyed playing cards, tag sales, visiting with friends and taking walks on Compo Beach. She will be dearly missed by her family which she adored and was always there to support.     

Katherine is survived by her three children, Jeanne Helfrich of Roswell, GA, Janice Gray of Deltona, FL and Mark Palmer of Westport, her brother, William McGarrie, and her sister, Carole Maddock, both of Westport, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine will be celebrated at the , 98 Riverside Ave., Westport on October 17, 10:30 AM, with burial to follow at Willowbrook Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. To sign an online guest book, please go to magnerfuneralhome.com.
