Cadet From Norwalk Dies At Military School In Vermont: Reports
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist the family Daniel Bermudez, who reportedly died last week at Norwich University.
NORWALK, CT — A former Norwalk High School student, who was a cadet at the Norwich University military school in Vermont, died last week at the academy, WTNH-TV and The Hour reported.
Daniel Bermudez, a member of the Class of 2028, reportedly collapsed and died on Jan. 15 during what were described as "normal" exercise drills. Bermudez was a member of the Bravo Company in the Corps of Cadets.
Foul play is not suspected, The Hour reported. CPR and medical treatment was administered to Bermudez, but those efforts were not successful.

Bermudez also reportedly attended Norwalk's Nathan Hale Middle School, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist his family with funeral expenses.
As of Tuesday, the effort had raised more than $17,000, exceeding its goal $15,000.

Services for Bermudez are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church in Norwalk; visitation is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Norwalk.
