3 People Displaced After House Fire In Norwalk

The blaze was reported around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, according to Norwalk fire officials.

NORWALK, CT — Three people were displaced after a fire swept through a home in Norwalk on Friday, according to officials.

Norwalk firefighters responded to the fire at 18 Silk St. shortly after 4:30 p.m. When crews arrived, they discovered flames coming from the home's basement and attached garage, as well as heavy smoke throughout the residence.

Firefighters evacuated all occupants of the home and also rescued a dog that was trapped inside. The dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, officials said.

After the fire, the house was deemed uninhabitable.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
