Concrete Deck Installed At Norwalk's Fairfield Avenue Bridge: Report

The bridge was torn down in May after it was heavily damaged by a fiery crash on I-95.

NORWALK, CT — The concrete deck was poured last week at the Fairfield Avenue bridge in Norwalk, as crews continue work to have the bridge rebuilt by the spring, The Hour reported.

In May, the bridge, which spans I-95, had to be torn down, after it suffered heavy damage following a fiery crash beneath it involving a tanker truck.

Crews from the state Department of Transportation, which is overseeing the construction of the new bridge, are hoping to get all paving work done this fall, before cold weather shuts down such efforts.
