Norwalk Construction Vehicle Fire Under Investigation: UPDATE
Fire officials said a total of 14 firefighters were called to a road in Norwalk after a road construction milling machine caught fire.

NORWALK, CT — The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating after a construction vehicle caught fire Wednesday afternoon in Norwalk, according to fire officials.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Maggio said a total of 14 firefighters were called to Betmarlea Road around 3 p.m. after a road construction milling machine on fire was reported in the area.
No injuries were reported, Maggio said.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was also called to the area due to a small amount of diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid that entered the runoff water from the firefighting operation, Maggio said.
According to Maggio, firefighters used absorbent material to minimize the amount of fluid that entered into the local watershed.

Around 3:30 p.m., police said on Facebook that Fillow Street was temporarily closed from Weed Avenue to Betmarlea Road due to the construction vehicle on fire.
