Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine Seized In Drug Bust, 4 Charged: Norwalk Police

Dynamite and a .40 caliber loaded handgun along with a fully automatic loaded 10-millimeter handgun were all seized, police said.

NORWALK, CT — Police announced the details of a drug bust on Tuesday and four people were charged, police said.

On Tuesday, the Special Services Division and the Emergency Services Unit Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant at an Osbourne Avenue residence, police said.

The warrant was obtained as the result of a "lengthy investigation" conducted by the Special Services Division, police said.

In the course of executing the search warrant, several people were "caught in the act of packaging fentanyl and crack cocaine," police said.

Police seized 534 grams of crack cocaine packaged for street level sale, 53 glassine folds of pure fentanyl packaged for street level sale, 61.8 grams of MDNA/Ecstasy pills, and about 242 grams of marijuana packed for street level sales, police said.

Also seized include: scales, cutting agents, drug paraphernalia, 4 quarter sticks of dynamite, a stolen .40 caliber loaded handgun with extended magazine, and a fully automatic loaded 10-millimeter handgun, police said.

"I commend the work of the Special Services Division and thank the members of the community who provided information about the criminal activity occurring in this area," said Chief James Walsh in a prepared statement.

Samuel Branch, 25, of Osbourne Avenue, was charged, and he was given a $1 million bond and an additional $50,000 bond stemming from a warrant served for motor vehicle charges.

Also charged include: Jermaine Joseph, 21, of Osbourne Avenue, who was given a $500,000 bond; Javon Coleman, 22, of Connecticut Avenue, who was given a $250,000 bond; and Dontae Scullark, 20, of Norden Place, who was given a $350,000 bond.
