Fire Breaks Out At Golf Club Pro Shop In Norwalk: FD

Fire officials said crews extinguished the structure fire after receiving multiple reports of a large wood-framed building on fire.

NORWALK, CT — Crews extinguished a structure fire that broke out Thursday morning at a golf pro shop in Norwalk, according to fire officials.

In a news release, Deputy Chief Adam Markowitz said the fire was located at the Shorehaven Golf Club Pro Shop on Canfield Avenue around 8:30 a.m. after the department received multiple reports of a large 1.5-story wood-framed building on fire.

When crews arrived, they encountered fire on the outside of the building extending up toward the soffits, Markowitz said.

The blaze was quickly extinguished and contained to the outside of the building before flames could extend into the attic, according to Markowitz.

The building was ventilated and metered while firefighters checked for extension, Markowitz said.

No injuries were reported and no occupants were displaced as a result of the fire, Markowitz said.

Norwalk police and emergency medical service crews were called to the area for support.

The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire, according to Markowitz.
