Former Walmart Manager Accused Of Stealing Over $200,000 From Norwalk Store: Police
A former Walmart manager accused of stealing over $200,000 from a Norwalk store was recently arrested in Texas, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A former Walmart manager accused of stealing over $200,000 from a Norwalk store over time was arrested this week in Texas, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said the department received a report in April that an ex-manager of a Walmart store on Main Avenue had stolen money from the store over a period of time.
According to Evarts, police discovered the ex-manager, Erfan Ahmadi, 40, of Austin, Texas, had embezzled a large sum of money between July 2023 and April 2024.

After further investigation, police determined Ahmadi had stolen approximately $238,000 within this timeframe, Evarts said.
When officers tried to locate Ahmadi, they learned he had fled to Texas. Police were then able to secure an arrest warrant based on their investigation, according to Evarts.

With the help of Walmart investigators and Texas rangers, Ahmadi was arrested and held for extradition, Evarts said.
On Tuesday, Norwalk police flew to Texas and brought Ahmadi back to Connecticut. He was charged with first-degree larceny.
His bond was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to Evarts.
