Grand Marshal Announced For Norwalk 2025 Memorial Day Parade
The city has announced the grand marshal and other details for this year's Memorial Day parade, set to take place May 26, 2025, in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — The city announced Wednesday that Lt. Col. Howard Dixon has been selected as the grand marshal for its 2025 Memorial Day parade, scheduled to take place May 26 in Norwalk.
According to the city's announcement, Dixon is a retired U.S. Air Force pilot who flew worldwide missions for 23 years.
He is the founder of the Advanced Airlift Tactics Technical Center, located at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base in Missouri, with satellite locations in Australia and Spain.

Now in its 42nd year, the AATTC provides advanced tactical training to aircrews from the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, U.S. Marine Corps, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command and 18 allied nations, according to the city.
Its programs have expanded to include advanced aircrew and tactical flying courses, munitions loading and sophisticated intelligence courses, according to the city.

Dixon also serves as a fire commissioner in Norwalk and is a lifelong member of the Western CT Military Officers Association.
The city's annual Memorial Day parade will start at Veterans Park at 10 a.m. and end at the Town Green on East Avenue.
A C-130 airplane, courtesy of the 103rd Airlift Wing/118 Airlift Squadron of the CT Air National Guard, is also scheduled to fly over the parade around 10:30 a.m., according to the city.
