Labor Day Garbage, Recycling Collection Schedule Announced For Norwalk

The city has announced the garbage and recycling schedule for the week of Labor Day, which falls on Sept. 1, 2025, this year.

NORWALK, CT — The city announced Wednesday the garbage and recycling schedule for the week of Labor Day, which falls on Sept. 1, 2025, this year.

According to the city's Facebook page, there will be no garbage and recycling collection on Labor Day.

The city's garbage and recycling collections will resume Tuesday, Sept. 2, and be delayed by one day.

The city's Transfer Station and Yard Waste site will also be closed Labor Day and reopen Tuesday.

The following Labor Day week garbage and recycling collection schedule was provided by the city of Norwalk:

  • Monday (Sept. 1): No collection.
  • Tuesday (Sept. 2): Monday’s collection route.
  • Wednesday (Sept. 3): Tuesday’s collection route.
  • Thursday (Sept. 4): Wednesday’s collection route.
  • Friday (Sept. 5): Thursday’s collection route.
  • Saturday (Sept. 6): Friday’s collection route.

Residents are asked to have both garbage and recycling at their curb by 6 a.m. for this altered collection schedule.
