Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Child, 8, Arrested: Norwalk Police
Police said a Norwalk man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl was arrested this week by Special Victims Unit detectives.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl was arrested this week following a police investigation, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said the department received a report of a sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl on Sept. 29.
Due to the nature of the incident, the investigation was assumed by the department's Special Victims Unit, Evarts said.

After further investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Armando Cruz-Zambrano, 56, of Norwalk, according to Evarts.
On Tuesday, Special Victims Unit detectives pulled Cruz-Zambrano over while he was driving on East Avenue and arrested him, Evarts said.

Cruz-Zambrano was charged with first-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16, third-degree assault and interfering with an emergency call.
His bond was set at $2 million and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Evarts.
