Maritime Aquarium To Celebrate Educators With Free Admission On Teacher's Day

NORWALK, CT — The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk will offer educators complimentary admission this weekend for its annual Teacher's Day celebration.

According to a news release provided by the aquarium, all teachers, along with one guest, will receive complimentary admission to the aquarium Saturday "in appreciation of their commitment to inspiring future generations."

The event offers a unique opportunity for teachers to explore the Maritime Aquarium's exhibits and discover educational programs tailored for students from early elementary through high school, according to the aquarium.

Attendees are invited to Oyster Hall in the morning for complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to engage with aquarium educators and fellow teachers.

This informal gathering will highlight how the aquarium can serve as a dynamic extension of the classroom, according to the facility.

"Teachers are the cornerstone of lifelong learning," Tom Naiman, vice president of education at the Maritime Aquarium, said in a news release. "We're thrilled to welcome them to the aquarium and showcase how our exhibits and programs can enhance classroom learning in engaging, hands-on ways."

Teachers must present a valid school ID to receive free admission. Additional guests are welcome at standard admission prices; tickets are available for purchase in advance or on-site the day of the event.

The Maritime Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on North Water Street in Norwalk.
