Memorial Day Parade 2024 Road Closures Announced For Norwalk

NORWALK, CT — A number of roads will be closed during the city's annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27.

According to a news release provided by police, the Exit 16 ramps of Interstate 95 and the Memorial Day parade route will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m.

The parade starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk and proceeds east on Van Zant Street, then north on East Avenue prior to concluding at the Norwalk Green, according to police.

Van Zant Street, East Avenue (south of Route 1) and the northbound and southbound ramps of Exit 16 of I-95 will be closed to all traffic, police said.

This closure will allow Norwalk's Memorial Day parade to proceed safely to the Norwalk Green.

Variable message signs located along I-95 and at the Exit 16 ramps will serve to notify drivers of the exit closure, according to police.

All other I-95 exits in Norwalk will remain open during the parade, police said.
