New Diabetes Prevention Program starting at the Riverbrook Regional Y

Classes start in February

The Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program is tailored for adults aged 18 and older who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) greater than 25 and may be at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel supported in your journey towards a healthier lifestyle. This program is more than just a series of classes; it’s an opportunity to engage with others who share similar goals, learn healthy habits, and celebrate personal growth together.

Eligibility can be confirmed through one of three blood tests: A1c, Fasting Plasma Glucose, or 2-hour Plasma Glucose. Additionally, individuals who have had Gestational Diabetes during a previous pregnancy or possess two or more risk factors are also welcome to join.
