Norwalk 2024 Election Results: Winners In Key Races Revealed

The polls have closed in Norwalk for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

NORWALK, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

For U.S. Congress, the Associated Press reports Democrat Jim Himes is the projected winner against Republican candidate Michael Goldstein and Independent candidate Benjamin Wesley, according to unofficial results.

The Norwalk Hour reports Bob Duff, the Democratic senate majority leader who was first elected to serve the 25th state senate district in 2005, declared victory over Martin Tagliaferro, a Republican, according to unofficial results.

In District 141, Republican Tracy Marra declared victory in the state representative race over Democrat Sheila Quinn on social media early Wednesday morning, according to unofficial results.

"Thank you for trusting me to continue to represent your voice in Hartford," Marra wrote on Facebook. "Thank you for reelecting me! I'm so grateful for the support from the 141st! I am honored that you have put your trust in me and I look forward to getting back to work!"

Additionally, Democrat Lucy Dathan is projected to have won out in District 142, where she ran unopposed.

For state representative, the candidates in District 137 were Kadeem Roberts, Democrat, versus Pietro Rotondo, Republican. Roberts is also endorsed by the Working Families Party.

In District 140, the candidates were Travis Simms, Democrat, versus Enrique Santiago, Republican. Simms is also endorsed by the Working Families Party.

In District 143, the candidates were Dominique Johnson, Democrat, versus Peter Bang, Republican. Johnson is endorsed by the Working Families Party and the Independent Party.

For Registrar of Voters the candidates were: Stuart W. Wells III, Democrat, Diana Paladino Christopher, Republican, and Katherine Price Snedaker, Independent.

Results for these races were not available before midnight on Election Night.

Connecticut voters also were asked to decide on the following ballot question: "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"

CT Insider reports the absentee ballot question has passed, with over 50 percent of voters selecting "yes," according to unofficial results.
