NORWALK, CT — The city announced this week the schedule for Norwalk's 2024 Christmas tree collection schedule, which will take place throughout January 2025.

According to a news release provided by the city, the collection schedule is determined by the day of the week a resident receives curbside recycling.

The following schedule was provided by the city of Norwalk:

January 2025 Christmas Tree Collection Schedule:

  • Week of Jan. 6 - Residents who receive regular recycling collection on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Week of Jan. 13 - Residents who receive regular recycling on Wednesdays.
  • Week of Jan. 22 - Residents who receive regular recycling on Thursdays and Fridays.

Residents are asked to follow these Christmas tree collection guidelines:

  • Have trees curbside by 6 a.m. on the Monday of the above collection weeks.
  • No plastic bags, lights, decorations or stands will be collected.
  • Holiday wreaths will not be collected as these are considered garbage due to the metal wire.
Residents of the Sixth Taxing District are privately serviced for this collection and will not receive this service, according to the city.

This service does not include apartment complexes and condos, and residents are asked to connect with their building management to ask them about potential Christmas tree collection services at their residence.
