Norwalk To Hold 2025 Holiday Extravaganza Event

The city's annual Holiday Extravaganza event will transform South Norwalk into a festive gathering with activities, performances and more.

NORWALK, CT — The city's fourth annual Holiday Extravaganza event will be held Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 50 Washington Street, transforming South Norwalk into a festive gathering with activities, performances and entertainment for all ages.

According to a news release provided by the city, guests can enjoy more than 25 local vendors, carousel rides, the Candy Cane Express train rides, stilt walkers, Santa and Tinkerbell meet-and-greets and festive photo opportunities throughout the evening.

"The Holiday Extravaganza is a joyful tradition that showcases Norwalk's business community and holiday spirit," Mayor Harry Rilling said in a news release. "It's meant to strengthen community ties by providing a free platform for social interaction, while helping our businesses thrive."

Since the event is fully outdoors, attendees are encouraged to bundle up and bring blankets and warm layers, city officials noted.

  • 5 p.m. - Roton Middle School Choir
  • 5:30 p.m. - Norwalk Academy of Dance
  • 5:50 p.m. - Santa vs. Grinch rappel down SONO50, led by the Norwalk Fire Department
  • 5:55 p.m. - Tree lighting ceremony
  • 6 p.m. - Ladies of Finesse
  • 7 p.m. - Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts

The city also thanked the Norwalk Fire Department for preparing a safe and spirited descent down the SONO50 building, which is scheduled to begin at 5:50 p.m.

The Norwalk Business Development & Tourism Department proudly presents the Holiday Extravaganza alongside other signature community events in Norwalk such as the SoNo Saturday Market and the Halloween Nightfair.

According to the city, these programs are part of the Norwalk's ongoing efforts to support local businesses and energize the city's legacy downtowns.
