Norwalk To Hold Annual Veterans Day Ceremony At City Hall

NORWALK, CT — The city is scheduled to hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony Tuesday morning at Norwalk City Hall.

According to a news release provided by the city, the ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. and include a rifle volley salute by the Norwalk Police Department Honor Guard, a rendition of Taps performed by Brien McMahon High School students and a performance by the American Festival Band.

Hosted by Mayor Harry Rilling, this year's guest speaker will be Dan Rosenthal, the son of a World War II Air Force veteran who serves on the Board of Directors of the 100th Bomb Group Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving and disseminating first-hand historical accounts of the men, missions and machines that fought in the skies over Europe during World War II, according to the city.

Rosenthal was also the longest-serving president of the board, city officials noted.

There will be a reception following the program in the Community Room with refreshments courtesy of the American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary.

City Hall is located at 125 East Avenue in Norwalk.
