Norwalk To Hold Veterans Day 2024 Ceremony At City Hall

The ceremony will begin with a performance by the American Festival Band, followed by a program and reception.

NORWALK, CT — Mayor Harry Rilling invites residents to join him for the city's annual Veterans Day ceremony Monday.

According to a news release provided by the city, the ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall, located at 125 East Avenue, with a performance by the American Festival Band, followed by a program and reception.

This year's guest speaker is Second Lieutenant Robin L. Montgomery, United States Marine Corps Reserve and former Brookfield chief of police.

The program will begin with a moment of silence and a rifle-volley salute by the Norwalk Police Department Honor Guard.

A rendition of Taps will be performed by Brien McMahon High School students Thomas Manna and Matteo Valiante. Jim Meehan, principal engineer of the city's Department of Public Works, will perform "Amazing Grace."

Refreshments will be served in the Community Room following the ceremony, courtesy of the American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary.
