Norwalk Man, 48, Charged with Possessing Child Pornography

A tip from a pawn shop resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old Moore Place resident on child pornography charges, Norwalk police said.

Robert Mosley was arrested and held on $50,000 bond. Norwalk police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the matter:

In February, a manager at Yankee Peddlar and Pawn on Main Street told police that a device they had acquired had child pornography in it. The device had come from Mosley. Police didn’t say exactly what that device was. Police began investigating.

“During the investigation, an additional device belonging to Mosley was seized and found to contain multiple pornographic images of children on it,” police said in a news release.

On Thursday, a manager at the pawn shop told police that Mosley was coming to the store to retrieve some items. Police met him there, took him into custody, then questioned him at police headquarters, where he admitted to possessing the child pornography.

He was charged with possession of child pornography, promoting a minor in an obscene performance, importing child pornography and obscenity. If Mosley is released on bond he will be due in court on March 20.
