Norwalk Man Gets 32 Months in Prison for Drug Dealing

John Yerinides, 51, of Norwalk was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport to 32 months in prison for cocaine trafficking, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Yerinides was arrested after a year-long investigation headed by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Norwalk Police Department.
The investigation probed sale of illicit oxycodone pils, cocaine and marijuana in Fairfield County, prosecutors said in a news release. As a result of the investigation, 16 people have been convicted of drug-related crimes.

Court-authorized telephone and text electronic eavesdropping by investigators showed Yerinides communicating about drug sales 180 time with Konstantinos Zografidis, identified by law enforcement officials as a primary distributor of oxycodone and cocaine.
Prosecutors said the investigation showed Yerinides was getting large amounts of cocaine from Zografidis and would then sell it to others.

Yerinides has been detained since he was arrested on June 12, 2012 and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and to possess cocaine with intent to distribute it. His prison sentence includes time served, and he was also sentenced to three years of probation. Zografidis has pleaded guilty but is yet to be sentenced.
