Norwalk Resident Has Record-Setting Night In Albertus Magnus Victory

The Norwalk High School graduate is a junior on the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk’s Jakara Murray-Leach, a junior on the Albertus Magnus College women’s basketball team, had a record-setting night in the Falcons’ thrilling 67-65 victory over Johnson and Wales Tuesday night in New Haven.

Albertus Magnus rallied from a fourth-quarter deficit to pull out the win in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest.

Murray-Leach, a Norwalk High School graduate, finished with a program record 10 blocks to go with 11 rebounds and seven points

Four players scored in double-figures, led by Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.), who scored 20. Amanda Zdru (Stratford, Conn.) finished with 15 points, including a clutch 3-pointer in the final minutes. Diamond White (Hamden, Conn. ) scored 11 points with five rebounds and Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Albertus Magnus improved to 13-4 overall (5-1 GNAC) with the win, while Johnson and Wales fell to 6-10 (2-4 GNAC).
