Norwalk Road To Close Due To Walk Bridge Project Construction Work

The road will be closed in both directions under the railroad bridge as work begins later this month and lasts through March 2025.

NORWALK, CT — The state Department of Transportation's Walk Bridge Project work on the Osborne Avenue Railroad Bridge is scheduled to begin July 29, 2024, and last through March 2025.

According to the city's Facebook page, Osborne Avenue will be closed in both directions under the railroad bridge while work is taking place. Local businesses and residence access will both be maintained.

As work permits, pedestrian access under the bridge will be maintained. This is a long term closure to facilitate to replacement of the railroad bridge, according to the city.

All traffic in the area is asked to follow detour signs.

"Thank you for your continued patience as the TIME-2 projects progress to improve, rehabilitate and replace the local railroad bridges in East Norwalk," the city's post reads.
