Norwalk Stamp Club honors Native American at annual show March 8
Show features a dozen dealers, supplies and stamps for collectors at Norwalk Senior Center

NORWALK, Connecticut -- The Norwalk Stamp Club will honor the memory of Connecticut-born Samuel Ashbow, Jr., the first Native American killed in the Revolutionary War, at its annual show on March 8. Ashbow, who fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, was a member of the Mohegan Tribe. He is depicted on a souvenir envelope to be issued during the Norwalk Stamp Club's annual show on March 8.
The stamp club’s 63rd annual show will take place Saturday March 8 at the Norwalk Senior Center, 11 Allen Road, in Norwalk, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The souvenir cachet and cancellation depicting Ashbow was designed by famed artist Chris Calle, who will be on hand to autograph the souvenir cover he created.
