Norwalk's New Mayor To Hold 2 Public 'Listening Sessions' Before Swearing In
Mayor-elect Barbara Smyth will hold two "listening sessions" ahead of being sworn in as mayor of Norwalk in January 2026.

NORWALK, CT — Mayor-elect Barbara Smyth will hold two "listening sessions" this month ahead of being sworn in as mayor of Norwalk in January.
According to the city's Facebook page, Smyth is inviting the community to attend the following two listening sessions:
- Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Norwalk City Hall.
- Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. at the South Norwalk Branch Library.
These listening sessions will be centered around key issues that were brought up during Smyth's campaign, according to the city.

Topics will include:
- Housing, affordability and community development.
- Education, schools and budget accountability.
- Traffic, transportation and infrastructure.
- Economic vibrancy, local business and workforce.
- Neighborhoods and quality of life.
- Environment and coastal resilience.
- Human services, mental health and social support.
According to the city, the public can engage at any table and move around the room discussing the areas that matter most to them.

Each table will have at least one member of Smyth's transition team to facilitate discussions and take notes.
