Gregory D. Burnett Sr., 65, died Aug. 28, 2025; an IBM executive and elected City Council member, Democratic Majority Leader and chairman of the Finance and Claims Committee, he was a dedicated Omega Psi Phi leader, youth mentor and certified track and field official who loved family traditions and coaching basketball.

Raymond W. Mulvey, 91, died Aug. 26, 2025; a longtime physical education teacher and coach at Nathan Hale Middle School, he also managed local beaches, and in retirement enjoyed carpentry, birding, history, cooking, and collecting golf balls.

Freddie Lee Lane, 88, died Aug. 24, 2025; a head custodian at South School in New Canaan for 35 years and part-time professional painter, he served as a church deacon and enjoyed Bible study, gospel music, bowling, fishing, and following the Yankees, Giants, and Mets.

Nancy D'Acunto, 81, died Aug. 23, 2025; she was a longtime real estate broker and member of the Norwalk Board of Realtors who enjoyed bowling, soap operas, and watching her grandchildren’s activities.

Peter Gakos, 78, died Aug. 18, 2025; a manufacturing engineering manager at Perkin-Elmer and former engineer at Norden’s, he held degrees in industrial engineering and operations research, coached youth baseball and basketball and volunteered at St. Thomas Church.

John S. Kubarych, 60, died Aug. 14, 2025; a carpenter and mechanic for more than 40 years, he enjoyed the mountains, nature, rock and roll music, and time with family and friends.
