Democratic mayoral candidate Harry Rilling made an announcement Wednesday afternoon concerning the BJ’s zoning application for 272-280 Main Avenue.
Making his announcement in front of the proposed site, Rilling said there should be a higher and better use for the location, according to a release. Rilling also suggested the proposed BJ’s would result in pollution and "debilitating" traffic on Main Avenue, creation of low-wage and part time jobs and lower taxes than would result compared to a mixed-use development.
There will be a hearing on the proposed site at City Hall on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7:00p.m. and Rilling urges the citizens of Norwalk to attend and oppose this project.
