Road Closure Announced During Construction Work In Norwalk: Police

Police said the state DOT will be making repairs to a road in Norwalk this week, during which a road closure and detours will be in place.

NORWALK, CT — The state Department of Transportation will continue to make repairs to a road in Norwalk this week, during which a road closure and detours will be in place, according to police.

In a traffic advisory posted to Facebook, police said the DOT has announced repairs to Route 123 at the New Canaan Avenue Grade Crossing in Norwalk.

Police said construction for the repairs has already begun, and Route 123 is expected to be fully closed Oct. 14-21, during which detours will be in place to assist drivers.

The road will reopen after Oct. 21, however reduced lanes and delays should be expected through Nov. 25, according to police.

The purpose of the project is to repair Route 123 at the New Canaan Avenue Grade Crossing to enhance safety for drivers, police noted.
