Day Care Director Is A 'Selfless Amazing Person': Norwalk Hero

NORWALK, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Karla Martinez who nominated Nancy Cook Owen of Norwalk. All of Karla's children have attended the day care facility where Nancy is the director.

Relationship to nominee: All my children have attended the day care she is the director of.

Reason for recognition: Nancy since the beginning of the pandemic has been at work trying to help others, specially the families of all the children at the center. She has provided food weekly to all the families in need. She has always helped others even before Covid.

One thing to know: Nancy is a selfless amazing person who always with all her love finds ways to help others!
