Shifting public funds leaves essential programs relying more on local donors. HSC is looking for people who have an interest in helping unhoused people, sexually abused children, low-income seniors, children without access to healthcare and students who need a mentor. We need Board Members, champions, donors and volunteers. Come to this great event to learn about the agency and how you can help!
Fairfield County residents are invited to turn a waterfront night out into life changing support at the Sunset Stroll, Wednesday, June 5, at The Point at Norwalk Cove. This open-air event featuring, silent and live auctions, live entertainment and delicious food, will raise critical dollars for the Human Services Council (HSC) – in a time when traditional government support has softened.
“For more than 80 years, our neighbors have known that HSC would be there in a crisis,” said Executive Director Anthony DiLauro. “But federal, state and local funding have been cut, and other contracts are tightening. Corporate has also lessened over the years due to uncertainty in the economy. We are asking the community to help us keep this lifeline strong. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community with our state and local government leaders, and corporate entrepreneurs to renew our commitment to making the community even stronger.”

Why Now?
Shrinking federal allocations and flat state contracts leave a growing service gap—even as requests for help have already risen 17 percent since January. “Every plate served on June 5 turns into medical and behavioral healthcare, mentoring, and housing stability for someone right here in Norwalk,” DiLauro added.
