Tractor Trailer Fire Closes 2 Lanes On I-95 In Norwalk, Numerous Delays Reported

UPDATE: The Norwalk crash is now cleared but big delays remain as of 9:20 a.m.

Here are the current conditions on the roads:

DARIEN - Road Work on I-95 Southbound between Exits 10 and 9 in effect today until 4:00 pm. The right lane is closed. Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 8:54 am.

FAIRFIELD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 24 and 13 (13.8 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 6:04 am.

STAMFORD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 8 and 6 (1.9 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 8:02 am.

TRUMBULL - Delays. RT 15 Southbound is congested between Exits 47 and 35 (18.7 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 6:18 am.

Original post: NORWALK, CT — A tractor trailer fire has led to two lanes being closed on I-95 southbound in Norwalk early Wednesday.

Delays stretch back to Bridgeport on the southbound side of the highway. Additionally, a crash has now been reported in Bridgeport too, and one lane is closed between exits 26 and 25. (Update: the Bridgeport crash has now been cleared but the Norwalk crash remains active.)

Here is a look at the current conditions, according to the state Department of Transportation:

NORWALK - Crash (Car Carrier Fire) on I-95 Southbound between Exits 15 and 14. The 2 right lanes are closed. Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 5:56 am.

FAIRFIELD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 19 and 14 (8.4 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 6:04 am.

MILFORD - Delays. I-95 Northbound is congested between Exits 40 and 43 (5.0 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 7:58 am.

STAMFORD - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 7 and 4 (4.3 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 8:02 am.

STRATFORD - Delays. RT 15 Southbound is congested between Exits 52 and 35 (24.0 miles). Reported Wednesday, April 9 at 6:18 am.
