TTD Holiday Tree Lighting Brings Festive Family Fun, Santa Claus To East Norwalk
The Third Taxing District's annual tree lighting event featured holiday tunes, festive snacks and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
NORWALK, CT — Festive cheer rang out in East Norwalk once again as the Third Taxing District held its annual holiday tree lighting event Sunday night at the Roger Ludlow Triangle park.
During the event, residents gathered by a large tree filled with lights as local band Old School 203 played holiday hits such as "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Here Comes Santa Claus."
Cookies, hot chocolate and other holiday refreshments were once again provided by the Norwalk Art Space Cafe for families to enjoy as they waited for the tree to be lit.

A donation box for TTD's annual food and toy drive was also available at the park. Those who wish to donate a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy following the event can drop it off at the taxing district's office on Second Street, according to the TTD Facebook page.
Mayor Harry Rilling joined TTD staff and commissioners for the event, which ended with a visit from Santa Claus himself, who arrived in a TTD bucket truck covered in colorful holiday lights.

Jolly Old St. Nick also took time to visit with children at the event in front of the tree.
"The event [Sunday] was one of the best we've ever had," TTD General Manage Kevin Barber said in a statement sent to Patch. "From the band, Old School 203, to Santa Claus arriving in a TTD bucket truck, the record crowd enjoyed every minute."
