Three Rivers College Foundation Host 'A Dream Realized' Fundraiser

'A Dream Realized' fundraiser raised more than $40K and filled the evening with guest speakers, recognition, and celebrations.

From Three Rivers College Foundation: On Friday, March 10, 2017, the Three Rivers College Foundation hosted “A Dream Realized,” a fundraising dinner that raised over $40,000 for the foundation. An evening filled with recognition and celebration, more than 160 guests witnessed the dedication of a lecture hall to President Emeritus Grace Sawyer Jones as well as the announcement of a newly endowed scholarship fund.

Three Rivers supporters came out in force to attend the event, which sold out quickly after being announced. The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the main lobby, followed by the dedication. Bill Stanley, President of the TRC Foundation Board and Vice President of Development and Community Relations at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, spoke of President Emeritus Jones’ leadership during the Major Gifts Campaign before unveiling a plaque outside the room, located near the main entrance of the school.

After the dedication ceremony, the gathering moved down the hall to a sit-down dinner and silent auction of artwork created and donated by students, faculty and staff. Auction proceeds were donated to the Grace Sawyer Jones Fund for the Arts, an endowed fund that supports the purchase of art for the College.

During dinner, the TRC Foundation announced the establishment of a newly endowed fund by the Adventures in Lifelong Learning. This $25,000 fund will provide financial support for Three Rivers students through two annual scholarships in the names of The Grace S. Jones Scholarship for Excellence and The Eugene Frank Memorial Scholarship.

The event raised over $40,000, which would not have been possible without the generous support of the Dream Realized Sponsors: Norwich Public Utilities, Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and Chelsea Groton Bank. The TRC Foundation would like to thank all of the businesses and community members who, through sponsorship and attendance, made “A Dream Realized” a success.
