Man Faces Kidnapping, Assault Charges After Norwich Domestic Disturbance: PD
A woman was injured during the Tuesday evening incident, according to police.

NORWICH, CT — A man is accused of assaulting and kidnapping a woman during a domestic dispute Tuesday, according to police.
Lt. Kyle Besse said police responded to Cumberland Farms on Laurel Hill Avenue for an “active domestic disturbance” around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 16.
Police said they determined the man, Ricardo Charles, physically assaulted the woman, threatened her, then forced her into a vehicle and left the area. Police did not disclose the relationship between them.

Officers later found the vehicle, pulled it over, and placed Charles under arrest, according to Besse.
The woman, who was found at a different location, required treatment for injuries she suffered during the attack, police said.

Charles is charged with first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree threatening, and disobeying the signal of an officer.
Charles was held overnight on a $150,000 cash/surety bond, and he is due to be arraigned in Superior Court in Norwich today.
