Amity Schools Budget Approved, Spending To Increase By 2.25 Percent
Taxpayers from the three-member towns in the Amity Regional District No. 5 voted and approved the proposed school budget.
ORANGE, CT – The Amity Regional District No. 5 Covering Bethany, Orange and Woodbridge, 2023-24 school budget of $54.5 million was approved, representing a $1.2 million, 2.25 percent, increase over the current budget.
The Amity Regional District No. 5 budget vote was held on Wednesday, May 5, where taxpayers from the three-member towns voted.
In Orange, there were 524 yes votes and 361 no votes.

In Woodbridge, there were 427 yes votes and 300 no votes.
In Bethany, there were 295 yes votes and 147 no votes.

Superintendent of Schools Jennifer P. Byars said through a statement the 2023-24 budget represents the commitment to providing the high quality and exceptional education that is a hallmark of the Amity Regional School District while attending to the financial well-being, safety and fiscal impact on taxpayers.
The Orange Town budget still needs to be voted on. On Wednesday, May 10, The Annual Orange Town Meeting will take place, and on Wednesday, May 17, Orange taxpayers will vote on the Town's $80 million proposed Budget.
