Amity BOE Again Tables Budget Surplus Decision
The Board of Education is expected to take up the issue at its January meeting.
ORANGE, CT — Amity Board of Education members again tabled a motion on what to do with surplus funds at the end of the fiscal year.
Te motion that was tabled read as follows: Direct the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of Finance to apply the audited surplus to the end of the current fiscal year to reduce the expense of the District for the current fiscal year.
Members are expected to take up the issue during a January meeting, said Amity BOE Chair Paul Davis in a statement.

Board of Education department heads submitted estimated budget needs in November. The superintendent's office will put together a full budget proposal next year, which is tentatively set to go before district voters in a May referendum.
