Amity BOE Votes On Budget Surplus Plans
The Amity Board of Education voted on how to use unexpended 2021-2022 budget funds.
ORANGE, CT — The Amity Board of Education voted to use any unexpended funds from the 2021-2022 budget to reduce expenses for the following fiscal year.
"The Board approved that the unexpended funds from the prior school year (2021-2022) be used to reduce the allocation payments made by the member towns for the current school year (2022-2023)," BOE Chair Paul Davis said in a letter to the community.
The reduction will be calculated from 2021-2022 enrollment and based on the final audit report that the board will approve at its February meeting, Davis said. The reduction in allocation payments will occur prior to June 30.
